How to Memorise Scripture by Pastor Greg Locke

Filed under: Religious, Review — quact @ 11:06 pm

Think of a topic, and then think whether you know texts you can quote in relation to that topic – you won’t always have your bible.

Step 1: Choose your topic.
3″*5″ cards. Write on it your topic in corner.

Step 2: List your references in biblical order.
This keeps references in order so you can go through them all without forgetting any.

Step 3: Memorise All References First.
This makes it much easier.  You always know whats the next verse.

Step 4: Fill in the verses.
When the references are memorised, fill in the verses yourself.  Write it yourself!  If you don’t have the discipline to write them out, you don’t have the discipline to learn them.

Step 5: Walk as you work.
Your body has natural rythem.  If you move while memorising your brain will remember much more.  You will have more oxygen getting to your brain.

You must know the references so you can show where what you are saying is.  You know you’re friends addresses!

Step 6: Repetition is the key to learning.

791328 words in the bible apparently!
If you don’t think this works, watch the video, the guy is a living concordance, and spews forth verses like a locomotive gives off smoke.

Methinks:
What about creating MP3 files to listen to while you walk?
