Computing Exam: 72/75
Computing Practical Exam: 18/20
Been going crazy on Project Gutenberg. Been downloading every book by G A Henty and R M Ballantyne. Very time consuming as I have to rename every file too. May mean more regularity on ma blog as I can review each, assuming I can print them out cheaply, or I get a pda I like reading from. Any suggestions here would be welcome.
Just back from doing ma shopping at morrisons. Some nice bargains, such as a punnet of kiwi fruits, all just about ripe already for 55p
, ate half of them as I thought some Vit C would come in handy for ma sore throat and blocked nose that I woke up with this morning.
An for a rant, Microwavable chips in them boxy things are a feeble excuse due to the lack of any decent quantity of chips. Works out at like 40p a box, and each contains the equivalent of 10 french fries. Pathetic!
Ma program to convert URLS and titles to a .csv file has been majorly improved to have a cool interface
, took me ages, in comp lab from 3-6 today!!!
Went through to Nathan’s last night to spend the day with him taking apart his old car, and taking apart his new car, and transferring various cables and suchlike across. Got a good look under his new car as well which was rather nice.
By taking apart, I basically mean removing a lot of the panels from side pillars in front, centre console thingy, and a few others in the front to remove/add buttons and hide wiring behind for hands free kit etc.
A wee bit tired, maybe go to bed now.
The other night I made a monumental discovery
, which I hope will solve all of my sleeping problems.
Up till now, I have been so good at getting up with my alarm, that now, when I set the alarm for a time that is too early for me to get up because I’m optimistic that I *might* get a good sleep, I simply turn it off in the morning, and wake up hours later having fallen asleep again.
Others my age would simply press snooze and roll over for 5 minutes. I have always simply gotten up, so am not in the habit of it. I now have my alarm at the other end of my room so I have to get out of bed to turn it off. In the mad dash across the room between the first loud click and the alarm blaring out as it does, hopefully I’ll remember to simply press the big grey button on top. Annoyingly, not wanting to repeat the dash every 15 mins, I turn it off. Thankfully my phone can go every 5 mins after that, and the snooze is easily within reach.
Anyways, first ebay auction has 2 bids, and ends in jus over an hour
. Another few auctions going up tonight. Best go and try and get in half an hours revision before I start on my dinner.
Sadly, yes: http://black-sails.freeonlinegames.com/
I advise you don’t play it. Its incredibly complex, and even after playing about 10 hours you can still discover new stuff. But it is fun
Sadly I didn’t encounter one of the biggest ship in the game in Battle and had to buy one instead
, which cost a fair bit, but oh well, 30 cannons a side, AWESOME
I captured 2 towns, 1 as a pirate, the other for a king, and neither rewarded me, so I gave up on that.
To save the money for the ship (ie stop buying massive quantities of ammo) I decided to sail around the entire Carribean on what I had. Managed it with plenty to spare
, and a fair few bits of gold picked up along the way.
Having bought the biggest ship in the game, and kitted her out with the max crew, I attacked the spanish capital. Jolly difficult as that was 600v600, so I only survived with 27 men and their muskets, and 22k gold in reserves!
Annoyingly, towns you capture don’t belong to you so having fought for it, all that happens is there is a pirate flag over it showing it has no allegiance!
I decided to retire as at 10pm, having started at 4, I couldn’t do much else other than increase my score and my gold reserves, so I declare myself conquerer of this game and hope I dont ever do anything so foolish as to play it again. (I played it for 3-4 hours yesterday too). Final score: 343200 50th overall on the site, for a game that been played almost a million times, not bad

Need to get the following logo on ma desktop some time soonish. Can’t be bothered setting up yet. Any program suggestions that I should add while I’m at it?
Maths and Computing Science (Programming) exams last week. Both went well, except a silly moment in ma maths exam when I discovered that what I had memorised as the result in terms of n of the sum of r squared was incorrect. That, and the inability to work out what it should be – annoyingly i did get very close – meant i lost 5 marks out of 100
. As far as I’m aware, the rest went fine. Oh, the CS was only a class test, but 75 marks worth in an hour and a half, very draining.
Computing Science ( Human Computer Interfaces, Databases) tomorrow, its another class test, and only an hour. I should be revising for it, but I’m a bit lacking on the motivation front at present. Its an afternoon exam after all. 50 Marks, the databases I can probably get 75%+ without revision easily, and the HCI is largely common sense. The stuff that isn’t common sense I will hopefully memorise tomorrow morning.
Hopefully, in the sense that I hope I am awake tomorrow morning. Last 4-5 nights I have gone to bed at midnightish, and not fallen asleep until what i know to be well after 3
, and then i sleep in past midday. Only 2 meals a day as a result. Definitely need to get some exercise, but when you are only awake a few of the daylight hours, its very hard to find the time.
Ma first ebay auction is up, well relisted at a slightly lower price, and it has three watchers
, awesome, as it has a bid at the reserve. I need to join Ebay’s affiliate program so that link there earns me money when all my many readers decide to buy via it *hopefully*. Yes I do know its not the sort of thing i plan on selling long term, but my darling mummy wanted rid of them and offered to post them for me if I list them, fabulous. Attempting to get some good feedback, more auctions to follow tomorrow today, when I receive the information I am waiting for by email.
Just thought I’d share a picture of a car I thought was *quite* nice.
